The Mendenhall Mustangs swept the MathCounts Competition last Saturday at Granada High School, taking firsts in both the 7th/8th grade team and the 6th grade team, winning all top five individual bests in 6th grade, and taking five of the 10 individual bests in 7th/8th grade. Let us fill you in on the exciting news! Our students are on fire when it comes to reading. At the beginning of this school year, Mendenhall School installed the online version of Renaissance Learning (Accelerated Reader). The Administration, teachers and staff members bonded together to encourage students to pick up a book and read it from beginning to end. You can see some of the progression of our results by following the Widget. Our Widget displays the amount of books students have read to date. It’s displayed on the right side of the Mendenhall homepage. We are so excited about how well our students are doing that the Administration and some of the staff members have challenged all core classes to an AR SmackDown reading contest. At the end of the second trimester we will tally up the points + the percentage of accuracy to declare the winners. Prizes will be given to the top 5 teams. The homepage will be updating the challenge results on the website so you can cheer your child’s team to victory. BREAKING NEWS!! Our AR Smackdown Challenge is on move.
