MEASURE M

Parcel Tax for Schools Update

On November 2, 2004 Livermore voters approved Measure D (Parcel Tax) with a decisive 71.3% vote to support our local schools! This has benefited our children with class size reduction to the primary grades (20 students in grades K-3); science specialists to the elementary schools; library staff every day to all levels; smaller class sizes; more course opportunities for middle and high school students; and the return of high school counselors, two each for Granada and Livermore High!

Over 700 people pitched in to help spread the word that this parcel tax was critical to protect quality education in Livermore. This measure succeeded because of the community’s help and dedication.

We are in the third year of this parcel tax. The wheels are in motion to form a committee to bring this measure to the November, 2008 ballot.

Please help to continue the protection of the quality education in Livermore and be ready to help this project succeed for the benefit of all of our children in Livermore.
