Counseling Services

School Counselor

Mendenhall's School Counselor, Dawn Allen, is available Mondays and Tuesdays for our students. She counsels social, emotional, and academic issues. Students are encouraged to reach out if they need help in any of these areas. Contact Ms. Allen at dallen@lvjusd.k12.ca.us. Students may also leave a message for her at the front office.

Horizons Family Counseling Services

My name is Kristine Sosine and I am pleased to introduce myself as Mendenhall’s Counseling Intern from the City of Livermore’s: Horizons Family Counseling. I am currently a graduate student at John F. Kennedy University, where I am working towards my Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology, and it is with great pleasure that I get to complete my traineeship here at Mendenhall though Horizons.

Among the numerous services offered by Horizons, our agency is able to provide individual and/or group counseling, as well as crisis intervention, at no cost to families. Services from Horizons Family Counseling are intended to provide emotional support and teach practical skills to students to improve academic, behavioral and social functioning in the school setting. These services are provided on-campus, during school hours.

I have a strong personal interest in working with middle school youth and feel middle school is a critical time in the development of the child. I am passionate about mindfulness practices, diversity, and the opportunity to be part of a journey that promotes the child’s overall well-being.

Please feel free to contact me at ksosine@cityoflivermore.net or you can leave a message for me with the school’s Office Staff. I am looking forward to offering my support to the students and families of Mendenhall this year!
